The Warrior's Call
School Year 2024-25 Draws to a Close
Dear Quantico Middle High School Parents and Stakeholders,
I want to thank the faculty, staff, students, parents and community partners for making 2024-25 a very successful year at Quantico Middle High School as measured by a variety of metrics we use throughout the year including being named an Advanced Placement Silver School and an AVID School of Distinction.
Also, it was an honor to be named the DoDEA Americas Principal of the Year. I consider that a team award and I accepted it on behalf of the fantastic team of faculty, staff, students, parents and community partners we are so blessed to have supporting Quantico Middle High School.
Our faculty and staff have distinguished themselves by mastering curriculum, presenting organized instruction, managing for effective learning, assessing student achievement through formative and summative assessments, continued implementation of the DoDEA Comprehensive Assessment System (CAS) and College and Career Ready Standards (CCRS) while also sponsoring a wide range of fantastic curricular and extra-curricular programs.
A hallmark of high performing schools are strong partnerships throughout the community. This is a strength at Quantico Middle High School, and I want to thank each and every person who took time out of their busy lives to conceptualize, plan and implement programs that contributed to increased student achievement, promoted social-emotional well-being and enhanced our positive school climate.
Our Warriors had another impressive year as they were terrific citizens while closely following the Quantico Middle High School Honor Code. They distinguished themselves academically, they showed exceptional dedication to their extra-curricular activities and we all had a lot of fun!
On behalf of our faculty and staff I want to wish everyone a great summer! If you are returning, we will see you in August for our Warrior Scavenger Hunt and Ice Cream Social. If you are not returning, please let us know what we can do to make your transition as seamless as possible.
If you're on Facebook or Instagram, be sure to like/follow our pages. It's a great way to keep up with our events and activities.
Together, we are Warrior STRONG!
Your QMHS Administrative Team,
Miles J. Shea, Principal, 703-459-3693

Summer Reading Programs in the Area
Summertime is the perfect season to dive into the world of reading, and many local organizations offer fantastic reading programs to engage the community. These programs not only encourage a love for literature but also provide educational enrichment for children and adults alike. Read on for some of the notable summer reading programs in the area.

DoD MWR Summer Reading Program
Level Up at Your Library is the theme for the DoD-MWR Libraries 2025 summer reading program!
Play is one of the ways we learn to relate to others, to think in new ways, and to foster friendships, new and old. Level Up at Your Library is an all-ages summer reading program based around puzzles and games.
Whether you’re playing with STEM concepts or gamifying your reading logs, learning to play chess or how to code video games, iREAD 2025: Level Up at Your Library reminds us that libraries are not just a space for knowledge, they are a space for fun!
In partnership with iREAD Summer Reading, library programs will include activities, graphics, crafts, reading lists, incentives, and much more for children, teens, and adults.
The benefits of summer reading are clear. National research finds that students who participate in library summer reading programs scored higher on reading achievement tests at the beginning of the next school year than those who did not participate. Our mission at DoD-MWR Libraries is to provide the resources and experiences to bridge this summer gap, while inspiring literacy and life-long learning.
For more information, please contact your installation library or email us at: Marine Corps: usmclibraries@usmc.mil

Prince William County Libraries
“Color Our World” is the theme for Summer Reading this year at Prince William Public Libraries, June 16–August 17.
With more than 150 in-person and virtual programs to choose from, there’s something for everyone. Check out our Online Events Calendar to see the lineup of programs at our libraries and virtually all summer long.
Be on the lookout! More information to come.

Chromebook Return Dates

We try to keep the Chromebooks in the hands of the students as long as possible. Please find the collection schedule below.
On the appointed day, students must bring their Chromebook, stylus, bag, and charger cable (both pieces). Students who are in summer school must present their Chromebook for re-issue.
Students sometimes forget to bring their charger cable, so if parents help them remember before they leave the house that day, we would greatly appreciate the effort.

Group of Students |
---|---|
May 30 | Seniors - This is the same day your check out sheet is due |
Jun. 3 | Gr 6-8 - Students who are taking a class for HS credit may keep their Chromebook until after their last final exam |
